reform and opportunities for GIS
Education and Employment Minister Baroness Blackstone has announced that the Government will be implementing many of the recommendations of the Dearing Review to widen the curriculum, enhance the role of key skills and encourage the integration of vocational and academic elements in learning .programmes. The new qualification framework will be introduced in September 2000. All of these developments suggest that there will be greater opportunities, indeed an increasing imperative, for the use of GIS in the delivery of the curriculum for Geography and related subjects.
